No Drama. - Acton

At a glance: Breakfast food utopia / McDonald's breakfast menu for diners with standards.

Visit for: Stacked breakfast buns & hash browns better than the “good times” memories of your ex.

Ordered: 1 x Egg,Cheddar & Green Sauce, 1 x Sausage Egg & Cheese, 1 x Hash Browns, 2 x OJ , 1 x Flat White (£30.60)

Location: Everywhere and nowhere all at once. A 7-minute walk from East Acton station.

No Drama is exactly that. A tiny service pass in a small shopfront in the middle of (respectfully) Acton just off of the A40. And while it’s all of those things, this is right up there with some of the best all-day breakfast food going.

With a limited menu on offer,  you’re reassured that anything you order will be bang on. Of the 6 items available, we went for the scrambled egg and green sauce bun and the sausage egg and cheese bun - with a side of hash browns because it would be rude not to.

Seating is limited but the charming staff and no-fuss approach to feeding people makes it feel as though you’re at a mate's new studio apartment for brunch. Before they’ve gotten a full table setting put together. Hot, fast and delicious with just the right amount of elevation. The food is made with real commitment to the basics and dare I say - genuine enjoyment of the craft. Two tables, 5 bar seats and a couple of outdoor spots for the brave. All are occupied by late morning on a chilly Sunday.

The breakfast buns are remarkable. The scrambled eggs are perfectly fluffy, balanced with a light in-house green sauce, mild cheddar, pickled red onion, house mayo and crispy onion. 3 eggs have never looked so good. The sausage, egg and cheese is the perfect marriage of salty and rich, with an oozing runny yolk and perfectly seasoned sausage patty. The real curveball was the crisped godsend trio of hashbrowns. Crispy, crunchy, garlicky in all the right ways and covered with the amount of parmesan one’s nonna would approve of. Alone, worthy of a visit to Acton.

Largely regarded as the home one of the best burgers in London, I’ll have to apologise for the triple order limit my stomach and cardiac health can cater to. I’ll be back for you, burger.

No Drama seems to be experiencing some kind of Instagram & TikTok second coming, I was surprised to learn they had been grinding for 2 years prior. They’ve remained true to all of the things that make spots like this endlessly appealing. Simple. Tried. True. Committed to feeding people well, treating them well and embracing No Drama. If you’re in the neighbourhood and hankering for a curative breakfast, this is your spot.
